Planning with Building Information Modeling (BIM) means building twice: first digitally and afterwards in reality. BIM is an optimized planning and management concept that combines all information provided by the participating architects and engineers into one three-dimensional digital model. This virtual construction beforehand provides many advantages to clients, architects and contractors. First the many different areas of expertise interact closely from the beginning and coordinate their planning in cooperation with each other. In addition it is also possible to predict aspects such as maintenance measures during the building´s life cycle as well as make clear statements regarding costs and time management. BIM therefore is a highly efficient concept which makes the planning and construction process more transparent especially for the client and guarantees the best possible cost optimization.
